The Criterion Lady 500 is an ever-popular general purpose 3 to 4 season women's down sleeping bag that has been designed especially for female users.
It is shorter in length than Criterion's unisex bags, with the down redistributed and a fleece footbox to provide more warmth and comfort.
With a comfort temperature rating of -7°C, you can camp out in the UK for most of the year.
Weighing 1100 grams the Criterion Lady 500 provides an excellent warmth to weight ratio for your outdoor adventures.
It is made using a Pertex Quantum 52gms/m² ripstop shell  filled with 500g of 700 FP Polish Goose down.
Trapezoid construction eliminates cold spots enabling a comfortable nights sleep. Neck and zip baffles keep out drafts, whilst 2-way YKK zips enable venting to help you control the temperature inside your sleeping bag.
A DWR treatment of the shell helps protect the down from any dampness that may occur in your tent, from condensation or wet gear.
When in its stuff sack, the pack size of 15x15x30cm is relatively small, leaving room in your bacpack for your other items.

    Features & Technology
Separate zip and neck collar system offers a full-length zip baffle, with polar fleece lined footbox for added insulation and comfort
    - an independent and adjustable full neck collar insulated with down traps air and can be used open or closed
    - polar fleece insert in the foot area
    - anti-snagging, insulated zip baffle
Insulated Neck Baffle. fastened by a velcro strip.
This velcro strip allows you to close the bag without having to zip it all the way up to the top.
This is a really useful facility if you get too warm and want to provide extra ventilation without opening up the whole of the sleeping bag at the top
This velcro fastener has a secondary strip to prevent unwanted “bits” catching in the hooks
Down-filled tailored cowl hood is comfortable and warm. The drawcord requires just a one-handed pull to draw it snugly about your head
Drawcord toggle systems allow for one-handed closing of the hood cowl and neck baffle
The drawcords on the hood and neck baffle are different to make it easier to identify them by touch when in use on a dark night.
Pertex fabric is water-resistant, windproof and breathabl, inherently “down-proof” and stain resistant. It is light and soft with excellent “drape” quality, yet very strong.
Criterion sleeping bags contain only Polish Goose Down, recognised world-wide as being of the highest quality.
Particularly loved in by the Japanese who are well known for demanding top quality and who buy large quantities of Polish down each year.
The excellent quality of Polish down is partly due to climatic conditions, but is also the result of extensive academic research into breeding techniques
The source is the non-polluted region of forests, lakes and beautiful, natural landscapes of North-Eastern Poland.  a particularly cold part of Poland, suffering long winter weeks of arctic air
It is to combat such severe conditions that the geese, whose natural habitat has been this region for thousands of years, have evolved their protective down to a quality which is unmatched anywhere, both for heat retention and for durability
Trapezoid Baffles are the ideal mix of the best qualities of Boxwall and V Baffles. Less heat is lost through stitching than in Boxwall and Stitched Through Baffles
Shell stitching is not directly opposite inner bag stitching
Angled side walls contain the down and reduces migration within the baffle reducing cold spots.
Body heat is trapped within the baffle keeping the temperature stable and comfortable.
Boxwall Baffles are the simplest answer to some of the disadvantages of Stitched Through Baffles.
The creation of sidewalls serves two purposes.
    - Firstly the down contained within the baffle is able to loft fully and insulate better, as the ends of the baffle are not being pushed together by stitching.
    - Secondly, there is no stitching that goes directly from the inner to the outer shell, this markedly reduces body heat lost
Box Foot creates a “mummy” shape, which gives plenty of room for your feet, especially useful when the sleeping bag is used whilst you are in “full gear” on a freezing night
The overall shape of the Criterion Box Foot is that of a trapezium, with the bottom wider than the top. It is designed to conform to the position of your feet when you are lying on your side, with both sets of toes pointing in more or less the same direction.
The Criterion Lady sleeping bags incorporate a Polar Fleece insert within the Box Foot, for additional warmth and comfort
Stuff Sack, especially designed for easy, one handed stuffing. It has just the right diameter to enable the sleeping bag to be inserted one handed without it being able to “escape”.
Finally, when it is all in and you want to withdraw your hand without letting the sleeping bag spring out, a one-handedpull on the draw cord is all that is necessary to close the neck and complete the job. That is due to having the drawcord toggle permenantly fixed to the side of the stuff sack.
The Comfort Temperature assumes that the bag is being used by a healthy user, in average humidity conditions inside typically-sized 1 to 3 person tent (with a relatively small body of still air surrounding the sleeping bag)
    Criterion Range Temperature Ratings
All of the Criterion models in the table below have been independently tested for warmth by Leeds University Performance Clothing Research Group
The results for all of the Criterion models were at least as good as stated – and were better in most cases
To get to their stated temperature ratings the sleeping bags have been tested, to British Standard BS 4745 and ISO 5087-1, by the University of Leeds’ Performance Clothing Research Group.
These tests gave both a TOG rating which you would be familiar with when buying a bed duvet as well as a specific temp in °C.
This is a starting point as laboratory tests are controlled environments, the mannequins do not move or sweat. Through product testing, expeditions and tester feedback Criterion have refined the labratory ratings to the ones advertised for the sleeping bags.
In cases where they have changed the tested rating  the temperature has been reduced to be more cautionary and safer.
