The Criterion Prime 700 is a 4 to 5 season Down Sleeping Bag is designed for winter trekking and winter Alpinism.
With a comfort temperature rating of -18°C you can camp out all year and also in alpine conditions.
Its weight is 1210 grams, which is low considering the low comfort temperature.
Made using a Pertex Quantum 52g/m² ripstop shell filled with 700g of 870 FP Diamond Grade White Polish Goose down.
Trapeziod construction eliminates cold spots enabling a comfortable night’s sleep.
A DWR+ treatment of the shell helps protect the down from any dampness that may occur in your tent, from condensation or wet gear.
Criterion sleeping bags contain only Polish goose down, whose source is the non-polluted region of forests, lakes and beautiful, natural landscapes of North Eastern Poland.
This is a particularly cold part of Poland, suffering long winter weeks of arctic air with temperatures once reaching as low as -36°C
It is to combat such severe conditions that the geese, whose natural habitat has been this region for thousands of years, have evolved their protective down to a quality which is unmatched anywhere, both for heat retention and for durability.

The Criterion stuff sack is specially designed for easy, one handed stuffing.
It has just the right diameter to enable the sleeping bag to be inserted one handed without it being able to “escape”.
When not in use Down sleeping bags should NOT be left in their stuff sacks under compression. That will reduce their lofting ability.
For storage, therefore, they are supplied with a Criterion storage bag
Trapezoid Baffles are the ideal mix of the best qualities of Boxwall and V Baffles. Less heat is lost through stitching than in Boxwall and
Stitched Through Baffles, shell stitching is not directly opposite inner bag stitching. Angled side walls contain the down and reduces
migration within the baffle reducing cold spots. There are less baffles than in a V shaped design, this means less weight, but at the cost
of some thermal efficiency. Body heat is trapped within the baffle keeping the temperature stable and comfortable.
Boxwall Baffles are the simplest answer to some of the disadvantages of stitched through baffles. The creation of side walls serves two
purposes. Firstly the down contained within the baffle is able to loft fully and insulate better, as the ends of the baffle are not being
pushed together by stitching. Secondly there is no stitching that goes directly from the inner to the outer shell, this markedly reduces
body heat lost.
Differential Cut, this is a manufacturing technique by which the outer surface of the top side of the sleeping bag is wider than lower
(inside) surface. This helps the down to expand outwards from the centrally located body position thus facilitating optimum lofting
Separate Zip Baffle and Neck Collar
Used in Criterion 3 to 4 season Prime sleeping bags. The separate zip and neck collar system, offers a full-length zip baffle, with a fully independent and adjustable down-filled upper and lower neck collar with Velcro fastening and differential fill. The zip baffle and collar fill power is 870

All of the Criterion models in the table below have been independently tested for warmth by Leeds University Performance Clothing

The results for all of the Criterion models were at least as good as stated – and were better in most cases
To get to their stated temperature ratings the sleeping bags have been tested, to British Standard BS 4745 and ISO 5087-1, by the
University of Leeds’ Performance Clothing Research Group. These tests gave both a TOG rating which you would be familiar with when
buying a bed duvet as well as a specific temp in °C. This is a starting point as laboratory tests are controlled environments, the
mannequins do not move or sweat. Through product testing, expeditions and tester feedback Criterion have refined the labratory ratings
to the ones advertised for the sleeping bags. In cases where they have changed the tested rating the temperature has been reduced to
be more cautionary and safer
