Recently updated with a recycled outer fabric, the Kangri GTX is a robust and reliable hardshell built with 70D 3-Layer GORE-TEX
Designed with the avid all-weather adventurer in mind, the Kangri GTX is ideal for hillwalking, hiking, trekking and mountain scrambles
Windproof and breathable, the Kangri GTX will keep you dry in the most severe downpours and provide protection from howling winds
Additional ventilation via deep, two-way pit zips allows for effective temperature regulation in demanding terrain
An elasticated hem and drawcord waist allow you to adjust the fit and seal in the heat when the temperature plummets
The Kangri GTX features a fully adjustable mountain hood that fits closely around the face, sheltering you from wind and rain but still allowing good vision and head-turn
It can be cinched around the face to avoid flapping, has a laminated wired peak that provides great coverage and a fleece lined chin guard which eliminates friction
In poor conditions the hem and hood can be quickly adjusted with one hand.
The jacket has a two-way YKK® AquaGuard® VISLON® ® front zip with an internal storm flap
Additionally two rucksack friendly hand pockets and an internal secure zipped pocket perfect for a phone or GPS

Storing Items In Pockets: Rab include the following info on a card in the jacket pocket
The card also includes a QR code which takes you to information regarding care and re-proofing
"While your new waterproof will keep wet weather at bay, condensation can still build up inside the pockets
Be careful when stowing electronics and, if necessary, place them in inside an addittional waterproof bag
We will be unable to provide compensation if electronic devices suffer water damage when stored in the pockets of your garment"

RET shows the fabric’s level of resistance to evaporation.
In this test, fabric is placed above a porous metal plate
The plate is heated to a constant temperature between 33°C and 36°C and water is channelled into the metal plate to simulate sweat.
As water vapour passes through the fabric it causes evaporative heat loss
The amount of energy that is needed to keep the plate at a constant temperature is used to extrapolate an RET figure
The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric is
RET 6 to 13: the fabric is very breathable. It is comfortable at a moderate activity rate
(13 to 20: the fabrics are still considered breathable at a satisfactory level, but it is uncomfortable at a high activity rate)
(20 to 30: slightly breathable. It is moderately comfortable at a low activity rate)
(30+: not breathable. Uncomfortable)
