It’s officially December! Do you know what that means? Ski season has begun. To help you out we have compiled a guide to help you get your ski essentials sorted. Whether you’re new to skiing, a regular skier or you just haven’t gone skiing in a while, this essentials guide is here to help everyone.
  1. Midlayers: Layering is a must on the slopes. Stack up on the layers with our selection of base and midlayers.
  2. Fleece: A good fleece is key to help keep you warm during the snow. We stock several fleeces from brands such as Kilpi and Rab.
  3. Socks: Never neglect your feet! Your toes need to stay toasty just as much as your hands do. We recommend specialist ski socks such as Bridgedale’s Midweight Merino Performance socks as they’re taller than your ski boot ensuring your legs stay warm as well as your feet. Whether you choose special ski socks or not, make sure they aren’t too thick otherwise it can affect your blood circulation.
  4. Outerwear: There’s really no point layering if you aren’t making sure your outerwear is on top form. We have a huge range of ski jackets and coats available for you to choose from.
  5. Gloves: Never go skiing without a good pair of gloves. Mittens or gloves, as long as they’re water resistant/proof, you can’t go wrong.
  6. Pants: Insulated, water proof/resistant ski trousers are essential. Bonus points for ones with extra pockets in them!
  7. Helmet: Keep that head protected! There are going to be a few accidents here and there, especially if you’re a beginner. Make sure you take a look at our range of ski helmets to keep your noggin in check.
  8. Goggles: Not only does your head need to be protected, but your eyes need protection too! There’s no point even going on the slopes if you can’t see anything because you keep getting glare, wind & snow in your eyes. If the weather isn’t too bad you can always settle for a good pair of sunnies too!

Hopefully this little essentials guide helped you out! If you want to know more about our products and services please don’t hesitate to contact us; whether that be via phone, email or by popping into the store. We’re always happy to help.
